Sedu Hair Care

Many people choose the Sedu ceramic flat iron and other negative ionic flat irons like it because they want to stop damaging their hair with conventional thermal styling tools. We’ve all seen how unattractive hair can get if it is curled too often with a curling iron or continually straightened with the wrong straightening iron. These visions of dry, damaged and split hair are what make many of us skeptical when someone tells us that flat irons cause no damage even if used on a daily or regular basis.

In order to see if you can actually use a Sedu flat iron daily without damaging your hair, we first need to look at how conventional thermal styling products work compared with the new technology of the Sedu.

Most conventional flat irons, just like curling irons, use heated metal to temporarily change the shape of the hair strand. This heat stays on the cuticle and can sometimes singe this delicate outer layer of the hair. A damaged cuticle will be rough in appearance and is often the cause of frizzy or damaged-looking hair. Additionally, the metal plates can be rough in texture and snag the hair as you are straightening it causing breakage and split ends.

The ceramic flat iron, on the other hand, uses negative ionic technology and ceramic/tourmaline straightening plates to straighten hair. This state-of-the-art technology actually infuses heat and moisture deep into the hair shaft before cleanly sealing the outer cuticle layer. The resulting shiny hair shows that the cuticle layer has been smoothed and sealed, the trademark of healthy hair.

Even though the Sedu flat iron helps to promote healthy hair and is a far better thermal device for your hair than conventional tools, you can still use it improperly and unknowingly cause damage to your delicate tresses. To avoid this, never set your iron at a higher temperature than is recommended or one higher than what is needed to straighten your hair. If your hair is already damaged, use the least amount of heat possible to straighten your locks. If your hair is coarse or extremely curly, you can use a higher temperature setting to get your hair perfectly straight, but don’t use more heat than you need.

While ceramic flat irons are safe enough to use everyday, you really don’t need to. The gorgeous results should last for at least two days. For some people, a Sedu style can last for three days or more. So, again, don’t use the Sedu unless you have to.

The bottom line? The Sedu flat iron is a very healthy way to straighten hair and leaves virtually no damage. But contrary to popular belief, you can have too much of a good thing.
