Sedu Flat Iron: How Long Will It Last?

If you are thinking about purchasing a Sedu ceramic flat iron or have recently purchased one, you are no doubt wondering how much bang you’re going to get for your buck. I mean let’s fact it; Sedu irons aren’t cheap and you want to make sure that you have made a wise decision and purchased an iron with a long life expectancy.

The Sedu ionic flat iron is a professional iron. That means that it has been manufactured with salon use in mind. Its parts have been made to withstand constant, daily use and sometimes abuse. (I’ve dropped mine countless times) All of this durability is good news for you because you will not be putting your Sedu flat iron through the rigors of salon life. That means that you can expect your Sedu to last even longer.

The Sedu flat iron comes with a one-year limited warranty. Covered under this warranty are any manufacture defects or mistakes and defects in parts and components. Certain parts of the iron, like the cord, are not covered because damage to these parts is common with normal wear and tear.

The general life expectancy of a Sedu ionic flat iron used in a salon is about 2 years, but I’ve seen them last for years past that. I’ve had mine for more than 3 years, and aside from a few scratches and dings on the casing, it’s still in great shape. So, you can realistically expect your Sedu to last well beyond a two-year lifespan depending on how much abuse you put it through.

Talking about abuse, you need to be careful with your Sedu because one drop at the right angle on the right type of flooring can destroy it. The flat iron’s ceramic plates are just that, ceramic, and if you’ve ever dropped a ceramic plate or statue, you know what happens to ceramic when it takes a good blow. The casing itself is extremely durable, but as I said before, the right angle can crack or dislocate the heating plates rendering the iron useless.

The bottom line is this: you can expect to use your not-so-cheap Sedu iron for a long time if you take care of it properly. If not, you may be forking out more money before you want to.
