Thanks to the Sedu ceramic flat iron creating a unique and beautiful updo for special occasions has never been easier to achieve than it is now. So, if you want to wow the other guests at your next dance, party or social event, choose one of these updos created with the Sedu flat iron.

The Half Updo
The half updo is a wonderful, quick informal updo that you can pull off in just a matter of minutes. All you need to do is straighten your locks with the Sedu flat iron, flipping your hair up on the ends. Once you have completely straightened your hair, you can simply pull the hair around the front of the face up and back into a simple knot or you can add interest with cornrows or zigzag partings. (See photo below.)

This updo can have many variations as you can imagine. You can leave your bangs pulled back, sleek them around your face or add dimension to them with a little curl. You can also change the way that you pull the sides back away from your face to reflect your individual style. If you’re more sedate and casual, a simple swept look will do. If you’re a little funky and brazen, you can do a series of zulu knots on top with sprigs of straightened hair escaping from the ends. (To create a zulu knot, section off a 1” square of hair and begin twisting it until it shortens and wraps itself into a knot. Pin in place.)

The French Twist
While the French twist is a classic updo, it is a very hard updo for people with naturally curly hair to achieve. Sure, their hair will twist into place, but there will invariably always be curly sprigs of hair that tend to escape throughout the night. To avoid this, simply straighten your hair with a Sedu flat iron before twisting it up. The Sedu iron will change the texture of your hair and make it easier to work with. It will also eliminate any curly sprigs and leave you with a smooth and classic updo.

Special effects with the Sedu
You can also use the ionic flat iron to create special effects or points of interest in your updo. Leave pieces of hair free at the ends after pinning it up and straighten these pieces. Doing so will give you wispy or fan-like tufts of hair that you can leave alone or mix with synthetic and colored hair pieces. You can also straighten select pieces of naturally curly hair around the parameter of the head. Pull the hair up loosely so that the curls are evident. Then, crisscross the straight pieces over the do to create a basket weave look.

As you can see, there are countless ways that you can create a unique updo with the Sedu flat iron. These are just a few ideas. I’m sure you can come up with even more.
