Creating Stunning and Trendy Updos with the Sedu

Prom season is fast approaching. Do you know how you are going to wear your hair? Instead of opting for a boring French Twist or Shirley Temple spirals, why not try something a little young and fresh like an updo created with the Sedu flat iron?

We all know that Sedu ceramic flat irons are perfect for creating everyday styles, but they can also add an element of interest to updos that cannot be achieved with any other styling tool. Here are just a few ideas for your next prom or special occasion:

Crisscross Bun
To create this style, part your hair into two sections with the part running horizontally from ear to ear. Pull the back half neatly into a simple bun or chignon while leaving the front half hang free. (Note: If you have naturally curly hair, it might be a good idea to straighten all of your hair with the Sedu before you begin.)

Next, begin experimenting with different crisscross partings in the front of your hair. These partings will add interest to the front and be swept back into the bun when you are finished. Once, you have outlined and parted the design that you want to achieve, straighten the sections with the Sedu and sweep them back into place, tucking the free ends under the bun or chignon. You can do as many partings as you like. Do a few if you want to achieve a simple style; do dozens of partings if you want to create a basket weave effect.

Crimped and Straight
When you look at young and fresh hairstyles, they almost always have a great deal of texture. One of the best ways that you can create texture in your updo is by alternating the Sedu flat iron and a crimping iron. Once you have done this, you can weave these sections into place and overlap them to create an even more dramatic effect. This technique can be done for virtually every updo from the half updo to the simple twist. Don’t forget to crimp the wispy pieces that fall free for an additional style element.
